Obituary of Barbara Jean Crandall

On Wednesday, November 3, 2021, Barbara Crandall passed away in Osage Beach, Missouri after a 10 month battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Barbara Jean “Gigi” Crandall was born August 13, 1958, at Seaside Memorial Hospital in Long Beach, California to Clara Pearl Aswegan Lawler and Larry Wayne Crandall Sr.

She graduated from Eldora-New Providence High School in 1976.

In May of 1979, she welcomed her first daughter, Tara Crandall. December 21, 1988 she welcomed her second daughter, Elizabeth Crandall. She was a single mom whose children were her entire world.

In 1989 she graduated from Marshalltown Community College with her nursing degree and was a nurse for 25 years. She was always a caregiver. She loved children and her elderly patients.

She had an insatiable love of reading, especially romance, and puzzles. But mostly she loved holidays and family reunions. She was happiest when everyone gathered at her home.

She was preceded in death by her father, Larry, mother, Clara, stepfather, Pat, and sister, Betty.

She is survived by her daughters Tara and Elizabeth, sisters, Brenda and Bonnie, brother, Larry, and many nieces and nephews.

She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at Heartland Worship Center in Camdenton, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family through Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri.
