Obituary of James Hood
James Hood, 79, passed from this life to his eternal home on Friday, November 19, 2021.
Jim was born February 16, 1942 in Dallas County, Missouri. After graduating Buffalo High School, he married Dianna Glanville of Buffalo, Missouri.
He lived most of his life in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, where he owned his own construction company. After the flood of 1993, he moved to the Lake of the Ozark, where he owned and operated a dock company.
He will be missed by his wife Dianna of Laurie, Missouri; two sons James Hood of Gravois Mills, Missouri and Gerald Hood of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; four grandchildren Cristina Hood of Texas, Rachel Hood Engle of Independence, Missouri, Jennifer Hood of Georgia, and Sam Hood of Rolla, Missouri; and three great-grandchildren Dallas Baker, Dylan Mcafoos, and Katelynn Mcafoos, all of Laurie, Missouri. He is also survived by his sister Shirley Jasper of Buffalo, Missouri; brother Frank Hood and wife Lou of Independence, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Howard Chapel Cemetery in Urbana, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the local food bank.
