Kenneth Winter

Obituary of Kenneth Eugene Winter

Kenneth Eugene “Gene” Winter was born on June 10, 1945 in Marshall, Missouri, the son of Elverna (Fricke) and Elmer Winter.  On Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the age of 76, Gene passed away.

Gene was raised on a farm, and lived in a rural community most of his life.  He had a love for family, church, and tractors.  He graduated from Sweet Springs High School in 1963. In 2002, he retired from Kent Feeds in Marshall, Missouri and started his own excavating company, which he had always dreamed of doing. In 2007, he and wife Chris relocated to the Lake of the Ozarks.  He began his third passion and number one hobby, working on, buying, and selling classic tractors.  Their life was filled with parades, tractor cruises, and machinery shows.  His best day was driving his tractor over the Mackinaw Bridge in Michigan along with 1400 other classic tractors.

A member of the Lutheran Church, Gene had a lifelong passion for Christ and serving the church and his community.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Ron Raker.

He is survived by his wife Christine of the home; two sisters Linda Sue (and Jay) Jackson of California, Missouri and Sandra Kay (and Glen) Houston of Lees Summit, Missouri; brother-in-law Michael (and Janis) Devlin of Bella Vista, Arkansas; son Terry (and Lisa) Winter of Grain Valley Missouri; daughter Michelle (and Donald) Boland of Sweet Springs, Missouri; and Brett (and Amanda) Winter of New Orleans, Louisiana; seven grandchildren Aaron, Abby, and Aidan Winter, Bailey and Brock Boland, and Elijah and Isaiah Winter; eight nieces and nephews; and 14 great nieces and nephews.
