Obituary of Allan Duane Hanson

Allan Duane Hanson, age 84, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Arrowhead Senior Living Community in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Allan was born November 12, 1937 in Duluth, Minnesota. He was the son of Arnold and Ethel Hanson.

On August 16, 1974, Allan married Marjorie Fobester. They shared over 44 years of marriage together before she passed in 2019.

Allan served in the United States Naval Reserve for 6 years with 2 years of Active service.

Allan grew up in Duluth and spent his entire life there until his retirement in 1996. Allan was employed by Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) as a senior Technician for 30 plus years.  Allan and Marjorie moved to Osage Beach when they retired. Allan and Marjorie loved to travel and went to many parts of the world. After retirement, they often traveled by RV while maintaining their home in Osage Beach, Missouri. They had a total of 6 RV’s.

They spent many years wintering at Rincon Country West RV Resort in Tucson, AZ. Allan loved trains, wood carving and stained glass. Allan was one the founding members of the Garden Railroad Club at RCW. He was a master wood carver and won many awards for his carvings. He also enjoyed working on stained glass. Allan was an extremely talented individual that enjoyed making things and helping others.

Allan is survived by one daughter Melinda Madden and three grandchildren Christopher Madden, Drew Madden, and Darren Madden, all of Duluth, Minnesota.

Allan was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie and son Daniel A. Hanson.  

Allan and Marjorie will be missed by the many friends they made throughout their lives.
