Obituary of Jerry D. Geasley

Jerry D. Geasley, age 71, of Eldon, Missouri passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Jerry was born March 24, 1950 in Franklin, Tennessee, the son of John and Marie (Ford) Geasley.

On September 24, 1973, Jerry was united in marriage to Debbie Sutherland in Belleville, Illinois. They shared 48 years together at the time of his passing.

Jerry was a Master Mason of Masonic Lodge #251 in Washington, Missouri, past Rajah of Lake Ozark Shrine Club, a member of Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Temple of Springfield, Missouri, and the Vice President of Osage Lakeside Local 148 International Union of Operating Engineer’s.

Jerry worked for Ameren for 42 years and retired from there. He was a social person who enjoyed being around people. He was kind and always helping others. He enjoyed gambling and liked to spend time outside fishing and hunting. He loved to play his guitar and sing. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, uncle, cousin, nephew, great-uncle, and friend to all.

Jerry is survived by his wife Debbie Geasley of the home; children Tammy Keys (Max) of Belleville, Illinois, Julie Weis (Jeff) of Fenton, Missouri, and Jerry “J.D.” Geasley, Jr. of Rocky Mount, Missouri; 5 grandchildren Alex (Ashley), Jacob (Cheyanne), Jack, Joel, and Trey; mother Marie Kerr of Belleville, Illinois; and sister Joy Rick (Ed) of Collinsville, Illinois.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father John Geasley and brother Ronnie Geasley.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 12:30 pm at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Shriner’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
