Obituary of John Paul McDowell

John “JP” Paul McDowell passed away at 68 years of age at Lake Regional Health System on Tuesday, February 1, 2022.

John was born on October 9, 1953 in Tuscumbia, Missouri, the son of Curtis and Leona (Luttrell) McDowell.

John always loved being on the go and was always willing to help others. He was always trying to do others out if his health permitted him to at that time. He loved getting together with family and friends to play cards and sing. He loved singing at church as well.

John loved giving people a hard time but all in good fun. The last few years, he enjoyed this with his grandchildren and great-grandkids as well. They seemed to bring him great joy.

And of course, he was always looking for that next great recipe to try for himself.

We love you, we miss you, but you will always be with us.

John leaves behind 1 brother Bobby McDowell of Brumley, Missouri; 2 sisters Linda Plemmors of Brumley, Missouri and Donna Barnes of Eldon, Missouri; 2 sons Issac McDowell of Marshfield, Missouri and Shawn McDowell of Eldon, Missouri; 1 grandson Austin McDowell of Marshfield, Missouri; 1 granddaughter Gracie Hendricks of Eldon, Missouri; and 4 great-grandkids Branden, Mason, Emily, and Karter of Marshfield, Missouri.

John was preceded in death by his parents Curtis and Leona (Luttrell) McDowell, Billy, Dennis, Gary, Dave, and Ronnie.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
