Obituary of John Miles Ramsey

John Miles Ramsey, age 81, of Camdenton, Missouri was called to his heavenly home while surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri.

John was born November 27, 1940 in Johnson County, Iowa, the son of Samuel and Florence (Crump) Ramsey.

On September 9, 1976, John was united in marriage to Phyllis (White) Colbert in Iowa City, Iowa.  They shared 45 wonderful years of marriage at the time of his passing.

John's passions were attending church, reading and studying the bible, and most of all spending precious time with his wife.  John had many hobbies through the years, including woodworking, gardening, feeding the birds, and fishing.  His most cherished and memorable moments were those spent sharing these hobbies with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

John is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Ramsey; his children, Jody Justine Gossen and Matthew of Roach, Missouri, Dana Jean Hopkins and Jimmy of Oklahoma, Tabetha Ann Ramsey and Felix of Oklahoma, Sherry Lynn Ramsey and Mike of Kansas, Honesty Miles Lewis and family of Lockridge, Iowa, Charles Robert Colbert and Vicki of Muscatine, Iowa, Thurman Todd Colbert and Darla of Keota, Iowa, and Brett Saul Colbert and Paula of Colorado; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Florence Ramsey; daughters Kimberly Jo Ramsey and Dawn Denise Colbert; two brothers; and one sister.
