Obituary of Nancy June O'Kelley

Nancy June O’Kelley, 83, of Climax Springs, passed away at home on Monday, March 28, 2022. She was born in Michie Tennessee. on May 17, 1938. The daughter of Carl and Betty Farris. Both her parent’s preceded Nancy in death.

On August 7, 1959, Nancy was united in marriage to Earnest J. O’Kelley, who was a teacher, preacher, and bus driver. Earnest preceded her in death. Three children were born to the union.

Nancy was a retired music teacher. She taught in the Climax Springs School District for 37 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a minor in music from Oklahoma Baptist University. She completed her music degree at Southwest Baptist University. Nancy was still in contact with many of her former students. She loved them all.

She was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, Training Union, and VBS. Nancy also played the piano for Sunday and Wednesday services as well as VBS, Revivals, and Christmas programs. Her passion was playing the piano for the church.

Nancy is survived by brothers, Dean of Belton, and Don of Florida; three children: son, Phillip of Troy, daughter, Lisa, future son-in-law Keith of Climax Springs, son, Benjamin, daughter-in-law Myrl of Springfield;  granddaughter, Kathleen of Columbia, grandson, Eddie of Climax Springs, five great grandchildren, Donovan, Naomi, Kendrick, Kirsi, and Quentin of Columbia; special cousins, Polly and Amber of Muskogee, Jeanie of Midlothian and a multitude of family and friends.

Services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, April 4, 2022 at Faith Baptist Church, Climax Springs, Missouri.  The family will welcome friends for visitation from 10:00-11:00 am prior to services at  the church.

Memorial donations may be given to charity of donor's choosing.
