Obituary of George Clifford Rooffener

George Clifford Rooffener of Eldirdge, Missouri, was born October 30, 1966, to Clifford and Naomi (Stover) Rooffener in Rural Camden County Missouri.

He went to heaven on the wings of an Eagle on August 9, 2022. At the time of his passing George was 55 years, 8 months, and 10 days.

George grew up down Hard Rock Lane in Rural Camden County. At a young age he lost his father and went to live with his bonus family, J.D. and Fern Burns, who raised him till he graduated from high school.

He made his career in concrete construction right after high school, and until he got cancer, that was what he did, except for tinkering with lawn mowers and working on vehicles.

His hobbies were raising cattle and horses, deer hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

On June 15, 1996, he was united in marriage to Roberta Banner. Although they had no children together, he had raised her children as his own.

He leaves to morn his passing, his wife of 26 years, Roberta Rooffener, of the home; their children Melissa (Jason) Brumley of Lebanon, Missouri, Sarah (Larry) Lampe Marshfield, Missouri, and Rebecca Crossland of Lebanon, Missouri; his grandchildren, Madison Carter and Ronald Reed of Hillsboro, Missouri, Vanessa and Priscilla Sousley of Lebanon, Missouri, Ashlee Brumley of Camdenton, Missouri, Jaden and John Carter of Marshfield, Missouri, Hayley Lampe of Marshfield, Missouri, Katelynn Carter, Dalton Carter, and Chace Carter of Kansas City, Missouri; great granddaughter, Averie Elizabeth Reed of Hillsboro, Missouri; brothers in law, Thomas Banner of Macks Creek, Missouri, Jim Banner of Independence, Missouri; his uncle (and deer hunting buddy) Vern Snyder; his friend and companion Anita Dyal; his brother Lindsey (Sharon) Rooffener of Humansville, Missouri and their children; his sister, Marie Rooffener Barton of Lebanon, Missouri and her daughters; his bonus family, Wesley (Rhonda) Burns of Lebanon, Missouri, Wayne (Trisha) Burns of Eldridge, Missouri, Linda, David, and Darrel Burns and their families; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was proceeded in death by his parents Clifford and Naomi (Stover) Rooffener; his brother James Rooffener; his sister Margaret Rooffener; his bonus parents J.D. and Fern Burns; his bonus brother Jerry Burns; his mother-in-law Janie Banner and his father-in-law Robert Banner.

George was a family man who always treated everyone he met like family. He will be sadly missed and greatly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri.  The family will welcome freinds for visitation from 9:30-10:30 am, prior to services at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Mt. Horeb Cemetery, Decaturville, Missouri.

Memorial donations are suggested to the family.
