Obituary of Emma Louise Mawyer

Emma Louise Mawyer, age 88, of Linn Creek, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Life Care Center, in Waynesville, Missouri.

Emma was born into this world on April 18, 1934, in Kaiser, Missouri. She was the daughter of Charles Arthur and Louise (Scott) McDowell.

Emma worked for many years in sales as a retail clerk. She was a very loving woman, who had a strong passion for family. She loved to cook and really enjoyed flowers. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and babysitting.

She often babysat Josie, Polly, and Daphne Dinsdale, as well as Spencer and Macy Mellencamp. The Mawyer family would like to thank both the Dinsdale and Mellencamp families for their love and support.

Emma is survived by her son Preston Mawyer, of Osage Beach, Missouri; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Mawyer, of Wyoming; two granddaughters, Jessica (Mike) Manning, of Georgia, and Melissa Mawyer, of Wyoming; four great-grandchildren, Molly, Lucy, Jack, and Avery; and one grand-dog, Clark.

Emma was preceded in death by both of her parents, Charles and Louise McDowell, her brothers, and her sisters.

A graveside service will be held for Emma on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at New Hope Cemetery, in Kaiser, Missouri at 10:00am.
