Obituary of John J. Hulsebus Sr.

John J. Hulsebus Sr., age 75, of Osage Beach, Missouri passed away Friday, August 19, 2022 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach.

John was born September 29, 1946 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of John J. and Marjorie (Baxter) Hulsebus.

On December 30, 2002, John was united in marriage to Deborah Kastner-Ockrim in Camdenton, Missouri.

John loved to travel and explore new places. He was passionate about golf and watching the Chicago Cubs. He adored his grandchildren and loved boating with his wife.

John leaves behind his wife of 20 years Deborah Ockrim Hulsebus; his daughter Sara (Patrick) O’Connor; his son John Hulsebus Jr.; his stepsons Michael (Carev) Ockrim, Steven (Adrienne) Ockrim, and David (Lisa) Ockrim; his grandchildren Nathan, Nicholas, Jillian, Nora Lynn, Mia Rose, Giovanni, Tyler, Ethan, and Nora Kelly.  John is also survived by his brother Timothy (Lynn) Hulsebus; brother Scott (Vickie) Holihan; his step-sister Heather (Bill) Lehrman; step-brother Brett (Veronica) Holihan; and step-sister-in-law Sharon Holihan.  

John was preceded in death by his parents John J. Hulsebus and Margorie Hulsebus Holihan; and his late step-brother Craig Holihan.

A celebration of John’s life will take place Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 4:00 pm at The Oaks Golf Course at Margaritaville in Osage Beach, Missouri.
