Obituary of Michael Damon Martin

Michael “Mikey” Damon Martin, age 72, went home to his heavenly father August 31, 2022.

Mikey was born February 27, 1950, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of John and Vera Martin.

Mikey loved the Lake of the Ozarks which he considered home most of his life. He loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, and loved to travel and being on the water.

Throughout his life, he never met a stranger. He was always up for an adventure, whether he was traveling, fishing, hunting, golfing, or just going down the street to a local store. Anyone that has known him for very long, knows that there should be a book of all of their “Mikey” stories and adventures, many of which include, “Mikey, I’m not sure this is going to work!”. His one-of-a-kind personality will not soon be forgotten.

The highlight of his life was his two granddaughters, Lily and Emily. He loved spending time with people and helping others.

Mikey came from a big family and had eight siblings.

Mikey is survived by Louis Scott, Carolyn Ruth, Peggy Lynn, Nancy Diane, Gregory Stratton, his son Scottie, and his two granddaughters Lily and Emily.

He is preceded in death by John “Jay” Jr., Mark Allen, Vera Kaye, and his son Michael.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri. Interment and Graveside service will follow at Laughlin Cemetery.
