Obituary of Elizabeth Sanders

Elizabeth Sanders, age 89, of Rocky Mount, Missouri passed away Monday, October 10, 2022 at Stover, Missouri.

Elizabeth was born December 28, 1932 in Mount Vernon, Illinois, the daughter of Zelma (Ethel) Carter.

On April 21, 1951, Elizabeth was united in marriage to Billy Sanders Sr. in Ziegler, Illinois. They shared 71 years together at the time of her passing.

Elizabeth loved her family dearly. She enjoyed arts and crafts including quilting, making clothes, baby blankets, and growing flowers. She enjoyed being a waitress and worked as such in military CEO clubs while Billy served in the military.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband Billy Sanders Sr. of the home; sons Billy Sanders Jr. (Dorothy) of Cottage Hills, Illinois and Gregory Sanders of Eldon, Missouri; daughters Deborah Urwiler (Thomas) of Rocky Mount, Missouri, Patricia Giddens (Jim) of Rocky Mount, Missouri, Cheryl Sanders of Osage Beach, Missouri, and Georgia Camden-Steele of Birds, Illinois; 11 grandchildren Mason, Amy, Shannon, Mandalynn, Keith, Matthew, Stephen, Jonathan, Joshua, Tiffany, and Brian; and many great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her mother Zelma Carter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 14, 2022 at 10:00 am at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach, Missouri. The family will welcome friends for visitation from 9:00 – 10:00 am prior to services at the funeral home.

Interment will held Friday, October 14, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Missouri Veterans Cemetery Fort Leonard Wood in Waynesville, Missouri.
