Obituary of Jasmine Chaplain

Please share a memory of Jasmine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jasmine Chaplain, 21, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri died unexpectedly on Friday, October 7, 2022, from injuries sustained in a car accident along with her fiancé, Christopher Trout. Their loss is devastating, and the families are shocked and deeply saddened.

Jasmine was born on April 3, 2001, to Joseph Chaplain & Chelsea Patty (née Emley) in New Port Richey, Florida. As a child, Jasmine participated in Girl Scouts, starting as a Brownie, and earning up to a Cadet by 8th grade. Concurrently, she also participated in athletics in Murrayville, Illinois, playing T-Ball and then softball up until the 7th grade.

Jasmine attended school in the Jacksonville School District (in Jacksonville, Illinois) before moving to Sunrise Beach, Missouri with her mother, brother and stepfather where she completed her schooling in the Camdenton School District (in Camdenton, Missouri).

Since completing her schooling, she worked at many of the well-known resorts in Lake Ozark, Missouri over the years. She was well loved and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, knew that she was incredibly kindhearted, funny and a joy to spend time with.

She was passionate about art, music and adventure. She also had an immense passion for upscaling found objects and painting. Many of her designs and specially curated pieces could be seen on display in the home she shared with fiancé, Christopher Trout. Additionally, she very much enjoyed Halloween and the following holiday season because it called for decorating and time with family.

Furthermore, Jasmine was a very spiritual person and lover of the great outdoors. She enjoyed hiking with friends and family at places like Ha Ha Tonka. Just generally spending time in nature gave her a oneness with the planet that she very much appreciated. Jasmine’s family and friends will miss her more than words could ever express.

Jasmine is predeceased by beloved niece Jordyn Sauls, grandfather John Emley, grandmother Jackie Emley.

Jasmine is survived by parents Chelsea Patty, Joseph Patty, Brandy Chaplain, and Joseph Chaplain; siblings Jenna Chaplain, Jacki Chaplain, Christian Emley, Tristan Chaplain, Jaclyn Barth, Jessica Sronce, and Joseph Patty; nieces Janessa Platt and Kelli Barth; nephews Jagger Chaplain, Judah Harmon, baby Atkins, and Brock Barth; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, and close friends.
