Obituary of Glenda Joyce Hubbs
Glenda Joyce Hubbs of Richland, Missouri, passed from this earth to her heavenly home on January 24, 2023. She was born on July 27, 1953 to her parents Franklin Jessie and Floella Mae Dickinson in Crosbyton, Texas.
She resided in McAdoo, Texas until the age of 8 when her family relocated to Decatur, Arkansas. She lived in Decatur until she married Loren Hubbs on July 27, 1971 and moved to southern Illinois where she spent the majority of her early adult life. She and her husband relocated to Montreal, Missouri in 2002, where she spent her remaining years.
Glenda was a lover of God, Jesus, her family, and friends. She was a very loving, giving, caring, and devoted soul who possessed a special soft spot for children, animals, and nature. She had a very curious mind, great imagination, and a will made of iron. She was lovingly referred to as ‘the boss lady’ by her husband. There didn’t seem to be a talent she couldn’t master if she tried. This was very evident by her fruitful efforts in making our clothes, growing and canning vegetables, canning fruits, building the barn, stringing and mending fences, and building our home - both literally and figuratively. Her family was continually blessed by her quick wit, large sense of humor, and competitive nature; most of all by her love of God.
Glenda was preceded in death by her father Frank Dickinson; maternal grandparents Franklin and Elsie Story; paternal grandparents Jessie (Tex) and Ruth Dickinson; and nephew Chad Dickinson.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Loren J. Hubbs who resides on the farm near Richland; her mother Floella Dickinson of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; two brothers Royce Dickinson and Irene of Watts, Oklahoma and Gary Dickinson and Dena of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; a son Samuel Hubbs and his wife Michelle of Montreal, Missouri; a daughter Gidget Koestner and her husband Travis of Russellville, Missouri; a son Travis Hubbs and wife Jennifer of Mooreland, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren Cole Karr and Carlos of Los Angeles, California; Jessie Hubbs and wife Kaylee of Jefferson City, Missouri; Levi Hubbs of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Layton Karr of Montreal, Missouri; Melanie Hubbs of Montreal, Missouri; Trevor Hubbs of Jefferson City, Missouri; Alanna Noble, Trey Hubbs, and Trista Hubbs all of Mooreland, Oklahoma; Allee Koestner of Savoy, Illinois, Kueffer Koestner and Adler Koestner of Russellville, Missouri; 2 great-grandchildren Westlynn Barnhart of Springfield, Missouri, and Royce Hubbs of Jefferson City, Missouri; and many much loved nieces, nephews, and cousins too numerous to name.
A life well lived and loved by many. Will be missed by many.
