Obituary of John M. Hart

John M. Hart, age 77, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023 at his home in Lake Ozark.

John was born February 27, 1945 in Carrier Mills, Illinois, the son of John L. and Wanda L. (Wilkins) Hart.

On December 23, 1967, John was united in marriage to Suzanne Renee Ely in Lincoln, Nebraska. They shared 55 years together at the time of his passing.

John proudly served in the United States Air Force and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. After retirement from the Air Force, John taught in the public school in Atlanta, Georgia and Columbia, Missouri. He was highly respected by family, friends, and coworkers for his vast knowledge of history, politics, sports and music. He was an avid fan of his beloved alma mater University of Nebraska Cornhuskers football team and the Kansas City Chiefs. John was devoted to his family and country and will be greatly missed.

John is survived by his wife Suzanne Hart of the home; son Kirk Hart of Bellevue, Nebraska; daughter Stephanie Maxwell of Osage Beach, Missouri; daughter-in-law Sarah McAndrews; son-in-law Joey Ramsey; grandchildren Francesca Rodriguez-Hart, Jorga Maxwell, Athena Maxwell, Hannah Hart, and Kendyl Hart; and step-grandson Christopher Hedlund.

John was preceded in death by his parents John and Wanda Hart; sister Rebecca Curtis; and son John Robert Hart.
