Obituary of Dennis Eugene Goertz

Dennis Eugene Goertz, age 62, of Waynesville, Missouri, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Osage Beach Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Dennis was born January 6, 1961 in Farmington, Minnesota. He was the son of David Goertz and Winnie Thompson.

On May 12, 2001, in Springfield, Missouri, Dennis was united in marriage to Dolores Hammett. They shared over 21 years of marriage together at the time of his passing.

Dennis was an Army veteran and before retirement worked many years as a cook. He loved cooking. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting, but there was nothing he loved more than being a father and being around his family.

Dennis is survived by his wife Delores Goertz of the home; his four sons Dennis E. Goertz II of Waynesville, Missouri, David Haney of Rolla, Missouri, Gary McGinnis of Springfield, Missouri, and David Deckard of Springfield, Missouri; his  three brothers Dale Goertz (Elizabeth) of Crocker, Missouri, Donald Goertz of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Pat Goertz (Amanda) of Jefferson City, Missouri; his sister Dawn Goertz Compton of Jefferson City, Missouri; and his three grandchildren Israel Deckard, Lyric McGinnis, and Bentley McGinnis.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents David and Winnie Goertz and his brother Dean Goertz.
