Obituary of Virginia "Roberta" Willis

Virginia "Roberta"  Willis, age 83, of Macks Creek, Missouri, was born January 3, 1940 at Windsor, Missouri and departed this life Monday, February 27, 2023 at her home in Macks Creek.

She is preceded in death by her husband, of 60 years, C. Vaughn Willis; daughter, Connie Lavonne; son, Bruce Dale; granddaughter, Miranda (Willis) Fulton; parents, Jasper (Jack) Leap and Reta LeTeresa (Miller) Leap; brothers, Raymond Leap, Donnie Leap, and Kenneth Leap; sisters, Phyllis (Leap) Eidson, Glenna (Leap) Cooper, Sharon (Leap) Shipman, and Donna (Leap) Jones.

She is survived by two sons, Randy G. Willis and wife, Valery, of Long Lane, Missouri, and Danny K. Willis and wife, Susan, of Macks Creek, Missouri; three grandchildren, McKenzie (Willis) Hicks and husband, Jon, of Springfield, Missouri, Holly (Willis) Webster and husband, Joe, of Macks Creek, Missouri, and Tyler Willis and wife, Hallie, of Macks Creek, Missouri; four great-grandchildren, Scarlett Webster, Ellie Willis, Oliver Webster, and Knox Willis; three brothers, Paul (Butch) Leap of Macks Creek, Missouri, Gary Leap and wife, Debbie, of Phillipsburg, Missouri, and Jackie Leap of Nashville, Tennessee; along with many nieces and nephews.

Roberta loved her family and spending time with them and she always had a treat for her great-grandchildren. She was a great cook and made everyone a birthday cake each year.  Fishing and camping were among her favorite hobbies, along with making furniture. She made several pieces for her family and friends .  Roberta and Vaughn, along with their family, spent a lot of their retirement years at local lakes. Special memories were made on these trips with her grandchildren.  She and Vaughn enjoyed traveling as they made many trips sightseeing and visiting family all across the country.

Roberta worked tirelessly raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for many years, in honor of her two children and two grandchildren who suffered from the disease.

Roberta was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Macks Creek, Missouri for many years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and Maw-Ma and will be missed by all who knew her.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 4 , 2023 at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Macks Creek, Missouri.  The family will welcome friends for visitation from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to services at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
