Karen Fay Wilson, age 80, of Climax Springs, Missouri passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at her daughter’s home in Versailles, Missouri.

Karen was born April 18, 1942, in Coffeyville, Kansas She was the daughter of David and Mary (Harlan) Estes.

At a young age, Karen moved with her family from Coffeyville, Kansas to Kansas City, Missouri.

On June 4, 1960, Karen was united in marriage to James Wilson in Kansas City, Missouri. They shared over 61 years together at the time of his passing.

Karen worked for many years as a pharmacy technician. She was a hard worker and was very proficient at her job. She worked her way up in the pharmacy industry and became a regional trainer, travelling to multiple different pharmacies to train other technicians. She eventually retired at a young age and moved to Climax Springs, Missouri with her husband to enjoy their retirement on the Lake of the Ozarks.

Karen loved the lake. She loved to go out on the water, boating, swimming, and skiing. Both Karen and her husband were very well known for their annual Labor Day picnics and loved hosting events. Karen was very active and competed in the Women’s Bowling Championship. She was a very involved member of the community and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Most of all, Karen loved spending time with her family. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was known for her kindness and having the best smile. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

Karen is survived by her son James E. Wilson and wife Wendy of Raymore, Missouri; daughter Karol Wilson and companion Rob of Versailles, Missouri; two grandchildren Jimmy Wilson and companion Astry, and Kody Lagares and husband David; three great-grandchildren Peyton, Carson, and Trenton; and one sister, Mary Lou Weeks.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents David and Mary Estes; her husband James Wilson; her twin sister Sharon May Williams; and two sisters Katy Maxine Tatum and Teva “Patty” Livingston.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 2:00 pm at Hedges-Scott funeral home Camdenton, Missouri. The Family will welcome friends for a visitation staring at 1:00pm.
