Obituary of Scott Ray Gillie
Scott Ray Gillie, age 45, of Osage Beach, MO passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on April 12, 2023.
Scott was born in Ridgecrest, CA, where he grew up with his parents Keith and Connie, and his brother Bill. He enjoyed BMX riding, skateboarding, snowboarding, football, and low rider trucks. He graduated
from Mesquite High School in 1997.
After graduating high school he moved to Eldon, MO and lived with his cousin Richie (and wife Cheryl) Cotten. The Lake was where Scott discovered the joy of cooking, turning it into his life’s passion of being
a Chef.
Scott has been a cook and Chef at many restaurants over the last 25 years at the Lake including: Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort, Tan-Tar-A, Inn At Grand Glaize, The Hideout, Willie B’s, Horney Toad, Fat Polly’s, and The Bend. Scott was loved by everyone who met him, he had an awesome personality, smile, and loved to laugh.
He was a loving father, fiancé, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many! Scott enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was very passionate about drag racing, dirt track racing, F1 racing, and
an avid Dallas Cowboys Fan.
He is survived by his loving fiancé Celeste Barela, daughters Isabella and Adysson Gillie and Alexis Barnes, son Liam Gillie, his parents Keith and Connie Wheeler, brother Bill (and wife Lisa Gillie), brother-in-law Anthony Greenplate (and fiancé Megan Pineda), nephews McGarrett and Maverick Gillie, nieces Mariah Gillie and Skye Campbell.
A Celebration of life will be held at The Encore Skybar on Sunday April 23, 2023 from 3pm to 6pm.
