Obituary of Ronald Rae Abram

Please share a memory of Ronald to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Ronald Rae Abram, age 73, died in his home in Roach, Missouri on Monday, April 24, 2023.

Ron was born March 21, 1950, in Beloit, Kansas. He was the son of Dwight and Martha Abram. He and his family would later relocate from Kansas to Safford, Arizona.

At a young age, Ron placed his faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. He was blessed to grow up with the godly influence of his parents and church family. He was a 1968 graduate of Safford High School. While in college, he felt called to be a missionary. In mission training, he met and married the love of his life, Debra Lindke on August 11, 1973, in Michigan. They shared 49 beautiful years together at the time of his passing.

Ron and Debbie completed the training in 1975 with New Tribes Mission (currently Ethnos360). They worked among the Budik people as church planters in Senegal, West Africa, spanning over 40 years, where they raised their three daughters. It was his greatest joy to see a church born among the Budik people, whom he loved.

Ron treasured his wife, his children, and his grandchildren. He will be remembered by his grandchildren for his humor, creativity, imagination, stories, and how he made everything fun. He modeled his love for Christ in everything he did. He made the Lord his Rock and Refuge and walked faithfully with Him. He enjoyed his life to the fullest, working heartily as unto the Lord even up to the hour of his passing.

Ron is survived by his wife Debbie; three daughters, Jody Baum (Benjamin) of Missouri, Heidi Burke (Jeff) of Ontario, Canada, and Sherri Hofer (Brian) of Missouri; eight grandchildren, Elianna Baum, Abigail Baum, Andrew Baum, Joshua Burke, Kara Burke, Elise Hofer, Braden Hofer, and Landon Hofer; his brothers, Jerry Abram (Cheryl) and Kelvin Abram (Carol); his sisters Peggy Estes (Glenn), his twin sister Julie Flower (Don), and Joyce Tingle (Bruce).

Ron was preceded in death by his parents Dwight and Martha Abram.
