Obituary of Linda F. Crowder
On Friday, April 28, 2023, we lost our beloved sister, Linda Crowder. She gave her best to a battle with cancer but could not win.
Linda was born and raised in Southern California but chose to live her adult years in the beautiful Ozarks. At her passing she was retired from the Osage Beach Police Department, where she worked for over 30 years. While there she made many lifelong friends.
Linda accomplished much in her 71 years. She loved to travel. One of her favorite trips was to Canada to see the Polar Bears. Bears were her passion as signified by the huge collection she amassed. Her beloved companion, her dog, is named Bear.
Linda was constantly doing things for her family and friends and was always there if needed. She was a caregiver for the last years of her father’s life; she successfully got certification in scuba diving; and was also a very accomplished poet and writer, publishing one of her books.
Linda is survived by her sisters Kay Crowder, Sharon Spicer-Bannister, Patricia Johnson, and Cheryl Sander. She had four nieces, Karen Wolven, Teresa Wolf, Denise Stephens, and Darlene Tierney; and one nephew Robert Johnson, plus many grand and great-grand nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Although her remaining family and friends will miss her, we know she is in a much better place.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Linda, to the World Wildlife Federation, Polar Bears International, Defenders of Wildlife, American Bear Association, or the Bear League.
A Celebration of Life in honor of Linda will be held on May 21, 2023, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Lions Club in Brumley, Missouri.
