Barbara A. Knapp, age 79, of Macks Creek, Missouri passed away on (Memorial Day) Monday, May 29th, 2023, at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri. Barb was united in marriage to Charles Knapp on June 6th, 1996, and they shared 27 years of a loving marriage together. Her and Chuck have lived in Macks Creek since 1997. Barb was born in Maysville, Missouri on May 14, 1945, at home, to her, loving parents, Ida and Lonny Mitchell.
Every year, since 1998, she grew a large garden filled with numerous plants. Barb was an ardent grower of flowers and a variety of other plants. She also enjoyed birds of every kind. Her favorite birds were the hummingbirds that returned every Spring to her feeders and stayed until fall.
Barb loved camping, fishing and country music. “I’ll Fly Away” was her all time favorite song. She could also be found watching Wheel of Fortune, cooking shows, Antique Road Show and westerns (especially ones with John Wayne in them). Barb looked forward to the occasional trip to The Boats with her older sisters whenever they could get together. She was preparing to attend the Mitchell Family Reunion on June 5th-11th, which she had attended since 1965. Cooking Sunday dinners for her children was something she greatly enjoyed doing. Holiday gatherings were a joy to her, especially Christmas and Thanksgiving with her family.
Barb is survived by her husband of the home, Charles Knapp, her children Scott, David and Billy Campbell and Lonna Stewart; her five grandchildren; her several great-grandchildren; her siblings Kenneth, Lois, Beulah, Betty, and Sue; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by parents Ida and Lonny Mitchell; one granddaughter; one daughter-in-law; and her brothers Raymond, J.D and Bill.
