Obituary of Henry Wilson Reed

Henry (Hank) Wilson Reed, age 86, died in his home in Linn Creek, Missouri on Sunday, June 11, 2023.

Hank was born November 11, 1936, in Dallas, TX. He was the son of Wesley Reed, and Esther Spikes and Bud Hart. He and his family would later relocate to California.

At the age of 59, Hank placed his faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. For many years, he served and attended Bible Baptist Church in Camdenton, MO.

Hank graduated high school from Modesto High School in Modesto, CA in 1956 and continued his education at Canada Junior College and graduated in 1986. He went on to serve at the Menlo Park Fire Department for 34 years before retiring. He met Dorothy Hermann on a blind date in Modesto, CA and they were married on August 16th, 1957. They shared 65 beautiful years together.

After retiring, he went to work at the Sleep Inn in Camdenton, MO for his daughter, Sheri. He worked there from 2002-2017, known as “Handy Hank the maintenance man”.

Hank treasured his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was always a loving and engaged “Paca”. He enjoyed trapshooting and leather work. He lived a full and joyful life.

Hank is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Sheri Nugent (Jim) of Missouri; four grandchildren, Chad Nugent (Katie), Jennifer Done (Cory), Chase Nugent (Mackenzie), Montana Reed (Heather); nine great-grandchildren, Gabe, Jase, McKinley, Emma, Aurora, Madilyn, Bentley, Collins, and Everly.

Hank was proceeded in death by his parents, his only sister, and his son, Michael Reed.
