Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Joseph M. Gioe Sr., age 66, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2023, at his home.

Joe was born on July 5, 1956, in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He was the son of Anthony and Colette (Koep) Gioe.

On March 12, 1978, in North New Jersey, Joe was united in marriage with Shirlyn Pironti. They shared over 45 years of marriage together at the time of his passing.

Joe was a hard worker and spent his working years working on the railroads as an executive. He began his career as a machinist for Central Jersey Railroad and worked his way up to Vice President of Product Service at Caterpillar. In 1990 he was published in the Railway Age Magazine. He was an outdoors man who loved to spend his time outside, especially the farm in upstate New York. He was a handyman and could build or fix almost anything. He had a great sense of humor, and always lived his life to the fullest. Of all the things Joe loved, he loved spending time with his family the most. He loved to be around his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Joe is survived by his wife Shirlyn Gioe of the home; son Joseph (Brittany) Gioe Jr. of Dallas, Georgia; two daughters Theresa (Matt) Cava of Oswego, Illinois and Melanie (Gregory) Mercer of Plainfield, Illinois; brother Frank Pironti of Whiting, New Jersey; two sisters Mary (Clem) Anodide of Brick, New Jersey and Pamela (Emmet) Acocella of Cedar Grove, New Jersey; seven grandchildren Molly, Dominic, Gregory, Olivia, Bailey, Calliana, and Christian; and one great-grandson, Maverick Gioe, who is expected to be born soon.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Colette Gioe; his mother and father-in-law Frank and Shirley Pironti; and his brother Thomas Gioe.
