Michial Wayne Hurley, 68, of Climax Springs, Missouri, moved to his heavenly home with Jesus, Friday, June 30, 2023, at NHC Osage Beach Rehab and Health Care Center, under the care of hospice, as a result of a massive stroke in January.

He was born January 1, 1955, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the son of Wanda Mae (Rich) and Charles Wayne Hurley. He graduated from Jefferson City High School in 1973. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri, Columbia. He served 3 years in the U.S. Army from 1973 to 1976 achieving a National Defense service medal; expert marksmanship, one year in the Army National Guard as an Electrician in Kansas City, Missouri and later in the Reserves.

Michial was united in marriage to Patricia Lee (Wilson) Davis on November 10, 1990. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He ran for Missouri State Representative in the 38th District, under the Libertarian Party in 1994. His campaign slogan was “I like Mike”. He was quite an intellectual and was often referred to as “a walking encyclopedia”. He loved plants; his hobby was gardening. Michial also loved computers and sold them at one point. He worked various jobs and retired as a school bus driver with many wonderful stories and memories of his “kids”. He was a member of the Belton Free Will Baptist Church and served His Lord as an adult Sunday School teacher for almost 12 years, among other ministries in the church. After moving to the Lake of the Ozarks a year and a half ago, he began attending Ozark Bethel Chapel in Roach, Missouri.

Michial is survived by his wife of 32 years, 3 stepchildren: Robert Frank, Climax Springs, Missouri, Heather (Davis) Allen (Jeremy), Climax Springs, Missouri, and Kristen Davis (Jerry), Belton, Missouri, 11 step-grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchildren, 4 sisters: Charlene Branson, Jefferson City, Missouri, Cynthia Prudden (Doug), Centertown, Missouri, Diana Richey (Phil), Jefferson City, Missouri, and Stacey DeLong (Jeff), Jefferson City, Missouri, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Darlene Gaye Clark, nephew, Christopher Roger Clark, and stepson Jeffery Lee Frank.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Ozark Bethel Chapel, located at 10346 State Road J, Roach, Missouri. Visitation will be held at 10:00a.m. and services will begin at 11:00a.m. and will be followed by Full Military Honors.
