Obituary of Terry Lynne Sullivan
Terry Lynne Sullivan, age 65, of Montreal, Missouri was born May 22, 1958 in Mars Hill, Maine and departed this life Wednesday July 26, 2023 at her home in Montreal.
She was preceded in death by her father Lynwood Clayton Brown, mother Mary Jane Brown (nee Parks), and her sister Jennifer Kingsley.
She is survived by her brother David Brown and sisters Rhonda Brophy and Coreen Brown; her husband of 34 years, Thomas Sullivan; her son, Jason Hoyt and his wife Lisa, of Nevada; and her daughter, Vanessa McGary and her husband Kevin, of Texas; and seven grandchildren: Ashley, Samantha, Jason, Jr., Brenna, Cash, Greyson, and Gavin.
Terry had an amazing ability to remake her skill sets for a variety of careers. Fresh out of high school, Terry became a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician. During her time in Alaska, she became known for her political acumen working as a Campaign Manager. While living in Maine and Texas, she earned a Real Estate License; became an insurance Broker winning President Level awards; sold cable TV subscriptions door-to-door; and started Envision Window Coverings, LLC. After moving to the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, Terry worked as a Career Counselor until retiring as a Grant Administrator. Throughout her working life, Terry’s energy and humor served her well.
Having lived in Maine, Alaska and Texas, when in 2013 she and Tom moved to the Lake of the Ozarks, she found it to be just the right combination.
Aside from her career, Terry mastered the art of cooking. She became known for her Chicken Marsala, Christmas baked goods and her great sense of humor. Though Terry had an active career, her children and grandchildren were everything. She treasured every moment with
them, loved, and prayed for them whether they were near or far.
We are saddened by our loss and know that many others feel the loss, too. Terry will be missed. But we have the assurance that she made a profession of Faith in Jesus as her Savior and Lord and it was reflected in the life she lived. Know that, Terry would want you to live happily, keep a sense of humor, exercise your Faith and continue the zest she had for life.
In lieu of flowers/trees, the family suggests a simple written memory of Terry or a photo.
