Obituary of Corrine V. Queen

Please share a memory of Corrine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Corrine V. Queen, age 87, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Stone Bridge Senior Living in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Corrine was born on May 14, 1936, in Santa Rosa, California. She was the daughter of Robert Mercer and Velma Burger.

Corrine worked most of her life in the health care industry as a medical aid. Even after retirement, she was always a caregiver to all. She was a strong woman, some would say “A Hero”. She never complained and never let life get her down. Her family was her entire world. She enjoyed games like bingo and dominos and knew how to win. She liked to paint and read and loved to travel. She especially enjoyed her girl’s shopping days. One of her granddaughters described her as “being stern when needed, but ready to comfort too. Being a sound place when nothing made sense. And being a home for anyone who needed it”. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

Corrine is survived by four children, Sherry Myers (Fred) of Murchison, Texas, Terry Stenger (Tony) of Lake Ozark, Missouri, James Queen (Diane) of Sims, Texas, and Joe Queen (Margaret) of Dekalb, Texas; her sister Jacque Taylor of Balch Springs, Texas; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Corrine is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Velma Mercer; brother Robert “Bobby” Mercer; sister Clarissa Mercer; and brother Herbie Mercer.

No formal services are scheduled at this time.
