Obituary of Dennis Norman Harmon

Dennis Norman Harmon, age 48 of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023, after a motorcycle accident in Linn Creek, Missouri.

Dennis was born on July 24, 1975 in Elyria, Ohio, and grew up in Howell, Michigan. He was preceeded in death by his father, Dennis Norman Harmon Sr., mother, Kathy Doris Harmon, and brother Bryan Alan Harmon. He is survived by his brother, Scott N. Harmon of Howell, Michigan and sister, Paula M. Good of Lorain, Ohio. He had many interests growing up such as fishing, hunting, training hunting dogs, racing bikes,and playing football and baseball.

He was an accomplished licensed Farrier, and travelled extensively throughout many states, including Michigan, Virginia, Florida, Kentucky, Texas, Missouri, and other states to perform Farrier services. He was also a horse trainer. Dennis moved to Missouri in 2008, mostly because of the hunting and fishing. Dennis was a private person with regard to his personal life but if he called you a friend, you were a friend for life.

He was a loving, outgoing protector of those who couldn't defend themselves. Those who knew him well, knew that this sometimes got him into trouble. His Denny-isms will not be forgotten. His smile was infectious.

Rabbits feared him and his beagles. I'm sure that their little bunny hearts are just as saddened, as we are about his passing, but gladdened that they need no cower at the sound of beagle music and Denny's laugh. Cows, deer and fish were his sustenance. He loved to fish and hunt, often bragging that he could live off the land. It might seem like a contradiction, but Denny loved animals. Horses and dogs were his friends, especially his horse, Studley and his Belgian Malinois, Jax.

Denny loved God and his creation, the way Jesus said to do it. But most of all he loved and charished his partner in life, Arlyne. Tentatively there will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at their farm located on Old S. 5, Camdenton, Missouri.
