Obituary of Daniel Walter Beck

Please share a memory of Daniel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Daniel Walter Beck of Chesterfield, MO, was called to his heavenly home on September 6, 2023 at his home in Lake Ozark, MO. He is survived by his wife, Virginia “Ginny” Wagner Beck, his daughter Vicki (Todd) Cross of St. Louis, 3 granddaughters Monica Cross, Lindsey (Walton) Grayson and Rachael (Zachary) Petruso. 3 great granddaughters Amelia, Abigail, and Valerie. And 1 sister, Donna Trares all of St. Louis.

Dan was born in St. Louis, MO, on October 18, 1934, to Walter & Loretta (Daniels) Beck. He attended Lutheran Schools from kindergarten thru 12 th grade in St. Louis. Dan graduated from Westminster College in Fulton, MO. After graduation he entered the Army and served two years in France.

Dan worked for Minnesota Mining and then worked for IBM as a sales representative for 10 years. He then decided to work for Vandeventer Engineering, of which, he became full owner and grew the company to over 40 employees.

Always Lake of the Ozarks has been his “home away from home”. He loved boating, water skiing, entertaining, and his beloved Christ the King Lutheran Church, and was also a member of Concordia Lutheran Church.

Dan held many volunteer positions with Lutheran Children & Family Services, Lutheran High School, Grace Place, served as Church Elder, often helped seminary students, and various mission projects.

Most of all Dan was a mentor to many, young and old. He was always a good listener and gave wise advice. His caring for others will long remain in the hearts of family and friends.

Dan was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Valerie Clara McAllister of 42 years. And his parents.

For all who trust in Jesus, there is no brighter hope to dispel the grief and pain that we feel at Dan’s departure to be with his Lord, than Christ’s own blood sealed assurance that all who trust in the saving merits of Jesus Christ, will one day be reunited with Dan and all the ransomed saints in heaven. May this be our hope and our strength! To God be all glory, forever and ever! Amen.
