Obituary of Dwight Winford Dyer

Dwight Winford Dyer, age 84, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Osage Beach Rehab and Health Care Center in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Dwight was born on August 17, 1939, in Obion County, Tennessee. He was the son of Walter Elvin Dyer and Lillian Marie Allen Dyer.

On May 21, 1960, Dwight was united in marriage to Nadine Whiteside in Doniphan, Missouri. They shared over 63 years of marriage at the time of his passing.

Dwight graduated from Doniphan High School in Doniphan, Missouri. He served in the Airforce for 21 years. After retirement, he had many different occupations, his last one being civil service at Fort Wood. Dwight loved his family more than anything. He enjoyed fishing and playing his guitar. He also enjoyed serving and working in Hermitage Baptist Church in Bolivar, Missouri, where he was a Deacon.

Dwight is survived by his wife, Nadine Dyer of Camdenton, Missouri; two sons, Michael (Renee) Dyer of Camdenton, Missouri, and Stacey (Debbie) Dyer of Carthage, Missouri; one daughter, Cheryle Dill of Camdenton, Missouri; 7 grandchildren, Stuart Dill, Alyssa Christopher, Jacob Dyer, Jordan Dyer, Justis Dyer, Garrett Dyer, and Dalton Dyer.

Dwight is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Lillian Dyer, and his brother George Dyer.                  

A visitation will be held on October 2, 2023, from 10:00am to 11:00am with services beginning at 11:00am at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Camdenton, Missouri. Interment will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Fort Leonard Wood in Waynesville, Missouri at 2:00pm.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Dwight’s name to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital or Samaritan’s Purse.
