Obituary of Norma Jean Niehoff

Norma Jean (GG) Niehoff 92, of Camdenton, Missouri passed away peacefully in her home Tuesday October 10th, 2023.  She was born on October 7^th 1931 to the late Lester and Amelia Hussmann. Norma was a devoted and loving wife to Carl Niehoff for 55 years until his passing in 2006.

Norma was an avid member of the St. Louis Jazz Club and was a very talented painter. Her love and passion for animals, especially dogs was second to none. She spent much of her later years with what she called her “second family” at the Knights of Columbus and VFW enjoying bingo and the fellowship of her many friends. Norma was also known for her love of Texas Hold ‘Em and was always ready to make you prove your hand. That playing style gave her the nickname “No Fold Norma” in some circles.   

Although Norma had a passion for life, for animals, and the arts, anyone that knew her knew her favorite part of this world was her family. She loved nothing more than being and grandmother and great-grandmother (GG). The smile on her face in the presence of her grandchildren could light up the darkest room. She loved sitting on the porch watching them play, listening to their stories and jokes and telling them a few her own. Her memory will be forever cherished in their hearts.

Norma is survived by her three grandchildren, Marsha Gulledge and husband Michael, Margo Holtman, Zach Lowrey and wife Ariana; four great-grandchildren, Maddux, Jack, Maverick, and Leon; Nieces Sandy and Husband Rick Hoechecker, Cheri and Husband Don Elder, and Marcia Bennick.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl; three children Carl Jr., Carla, and Carol; and sister Arlene Ross.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 4, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Knights of Columbus in Camdenton, Missouri.
