Obituary of Arthur Leonard Ackerson

Arthur Leonard (Art) Ackerson age 74, of Camdenton, Missouri, departed this life, Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Landmark Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Art was born and raised in Chicago/Oak Lawn, Illinois. He moved to Missouri in 1990 after marrying Victoria (Fekete) Ackerson in 1986. Art's background was extensive, starting as a Cook County Police Officer, Burbank Police Chief, an Entrepreneur starting and building businesses such as Runaway II Resort, Masterpiece Construction, Wizard Rods, and Fish Hog Tackle. He touched a lot of peoples' lives in so many different ways. Art's passion was the fishing industry and his knowledge and expertise would awe anyone who sat down and listened to his many fascinating stories on how the fishing industry worked. He would constantly create new innovative ways of catching bass, especially “the BIG one”. Art was a kind, honest, and God loving man who gave to those in need. He was a man of his word with a heart the size of Texas. It's now Art's time to have his talk with the Lord, telling him his fishing stories. We hope God is a patient God with lots of time on his hands because Art doesn't have a short story. He is survived by his wife Victoria (Fekete) Ackerson; his brother, Bill Ackerson; his two sisters, Ann (Ackerson) Ornelas and Emily (Ackerson) Hanasits; and his children Amy, Art, Eric and Bonnie.
