Jack was true to his convictions about God and Motorcycling. He was a very proud veteran and an example to follow. I'm sure he suffered pain on this Earth but he is in Heaven wear all things are right. May he rest in peace knowing he did what God wanted.

What an honor it was to meet you sir. Your grace and dignity was an inspiration. My sincere condolance to your wife Gloria, and your family.
Thank you for our candid conversation. I only had the priviledge of knowing you for three days, yet the stamp you left on me was both positive and permanent. Thank you for the great, funny, and heartfelt stories. If it wasnt for you I may never have seen a ten point buck, and will never forget how you got him. Thank you for loving "the four seasons", and telling how you made three requests at their concert, you made a fan. With your passing i lost an opportunity to learn so much more from you. You made me feel so welcome I truely believe you would have shared with me the things you love. I will remember the time i spent in your home forever. Thank for everything you did share, you are a really cool dude. Later Jack

The first day I met jack was a few months after moving in a few doors down from him and Gloria. He was always standing leaning on the blue truck and I would always walk down and say hi to talk about "my flavor of the week" as he would say. The funny thing was is that he knew every guy...not by the name or what they looked like...but the car they drove and how it sounded on the rocks. He could tell you the exact time i pulled in the night before. My first harley ride was with Jack. His pony tail whipped me in the face the entire way to Chatham to go help with the Special Olympics. When i moved out of Virden on my last trip to my parents house to get the rest of my furniture, my last stop was to see Jack. He told me how much quieter the neighborhood would be. After him and gloria moved, i missed seeing the blue truck with the hope of going to talk to my friend. He stuck by me and my family and was such a good listener. He will be missed by the Post road crew.

The day I finally stopped by to say "Hi", to a man I did not know, was the beginning of a friendship that was cut to short. I will always remember the "playtime" I spent standing behind Jack's truck, solving the worlds problems. He always was standing outside & just watching the world go by. I, on the other hand, noticed he had a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. I wanted a HD so bad I could taste it & figured if I couldn't have one, I'd befriend someone who does. I remember telling Jack that I had cancer and he stood by me, thick & thin. He visited me in the hospital, came to a benefit for me & always had either a joke or a prayer that would make my day a little better. Anyway, I am going on 5 years cancer free and I now have my own HD. One day, when we were having "playtime", Jack told me he had something for me. He went into his house & came back out with a black leather vest. It was his and he gave it to me to wear on my HD. Jack would always say, "Here comes trouble" or "What's this neighborhood coming to" when I would pull into his driveway on my HD. I wear that vest with pride because every time I put that vest on, I think of the day I stopped to say "Hi" to man I didn't know.

Gloria and family,
Heaven gained a true angel with Jack. Having known him before Jesus met him, it was a pure joy to see how the Lord could transform my friend. Gloria, I know you were a strong part of that transformation. God bless you. He will always be "uncle Jack" to Jesse. He was so excited to see him those times at the truck stop as he passed through. Thanks for the memories, Jack. Your sister in Christ, Michelle. Love you both

He was always willing to share what God had delivered him from and to share the love and grace of Jesus. I know that he is in Heaven and we will see each other again. I am praying for Gloria and all those who will miss his daily presence here on earth.
