Obituary of Teddy Carl Leslie, Sr.

Teddy “Ted” Carl Leslie, Sr., age 78, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016, at his home in Osage Beach. His passing has left a void in his family that cannot be filled. Ted was born June 24, 1937, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, the son of Scott W. and Bertha D. (Landrum) Leslie. Ted was united in marriage February 20, 1960, in Harviell, Missouri, to Ivonne Jeanelle Parker. They shared 56 wonderful years of marriage at the time of his death. Ted retired from General Motors after 28 years of service. He was an avid reader who never read a book he didn't like and never forgot a book that he read. He was the go-to-guy for information…he was the family’s original Google before there was a Google. Ted enjoyed spending time on his computer or Kindle, watching news and sports on television, and relaxing at home with his family. Ted is survived by his wife Ivonne Jeanelle Leslie; his children Teddye C. Leslie, Jr., of Osage Beach, Missouri, Candice I. Leslie of Imperial, Missouri, and Tori L. Ketcherside and husband, Mark, of De Soto, Missouri; his grandchildren Scott A. Ketcherside of Osage Beach, Missouri, Miranda L. Ketcherside of De Soto, Missouri, and Andrew C. Leslie of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law Barbara Leslie, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ted was preceded in death by his parents Scott and Bertha Leslie, his brother Earle Leslie, his sister Bettye Gray, and his brother-in-law Kenneth Gray.
