Obituary of Oliver Conn
Oliver Conn, age 93, died on June 16, 2016 in Columbia, Missouri. He was born August 28th, 1922 at Bennett Springs the son of Oliver and Essa (Hart) Conn.
Conn married Faye Lewis, his high school sweetheart, on July 3, 1943. His family was extremely important to him and he loved them very much. His favorite sports were gaited horses and hunting. He was a long-time member of Harper Chapel.
During WWII Conn served in the army combat engineers as a 1st sergeant in the Pacific. After the war he served an additional 20 years in the US Air Force. Conn lived in 10 states and one foreign country while serving in the Air Force. During his Air Force career, he was in aircraft maintenance as a flight engineer and he held a private pilot license. Conn was very military in everyday life. He especially liked the discipline, regulations, and comradeship of the military. After military service, Conn and family were Lake of the Ozarks merchants and he was postmaster in Kaiser. In recent years, Conn and Faye moved to Columbia to be near their daughter Vicki.
Survivors include his wife Faye, daughter Vicki Conn, daughter-in-law Kathy Conn, and grandchildren Conn Nielsen, Paul (Jessica) Nielsen, and Afton Conn. He was preceded in death by his son Rick Conn and siblings Paul Conn, Waldo Conn, and Valeda Snyder.
