Obituary of Chuck Sandy
Chuck Sandy, 74 years of age, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at his home in Osage Beach, Missouri, with his family by his side, after his battle with lung cancer.
Chuck was born May 13, 1943, in Gretna, Nebraska to Benjamin and Alvira Sandy. He was one of eight children. Chuck was married to Vicki (Peschka) Sandy in Columbus, Nebraska and the couple were blessed with two children, Jeffrey and Amy (Sandy) Balk.
Chuck received his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management and Technology at the University of Nebraska, Kearney. Throughout 38 years of excellence at John Deere, he served in a variety of positions including Manager of Industrial Engineering, Manager of Distribution Reliability, and John Deere Fleet for Worldwide Logistics. During his career, he traveled to Europe several times and participated in developing a patent for John Deere. Chuck retired in 2006.
In 2014, Chuck and Vicki relocated to Osage Beach. Chuck loved car racing, flea markets, traveling, boating, riding jet skis, being on the lake, convertible rides in his 67 Camaro, happy hours at the pool, spending time with family & friends, and laughing. Chuck was always found wearing a smile on his face. He was a loving and caring person, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, always thinking of others first. Chuck never met a stranger and was well liked by everyone. “To know him was to love him.”
Chuck leaves his beloved wife Vicki, of 49 years, son Jeff and Bonni Sandy, grandsons Evan, Brandon and Zachary, daughter, Amy (Sandy) Balk, grandsons Jordan, Austin and granddaughter Megan, a brother Harold Sandy, sisters Joyce Hoeft, Ida Siedel, Judy Leu and Eileen Eisele, nieces, nephews, and friends. They cherish his memory with love.
He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Alvira, two brothers Leslie Sandy, and Carl Sandy.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, September 16, 2017 at The Church at Osage Hills in Osage Beach, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials be sent either to Lake Regional Health System in memory of Chuck Sandy, Attn. Fund Development/Hospice 54 Hospital Dr., Osage Beach, Missouri or your local animal shelter.
