Since Paul was a Catholic schooler and I was a Lutheran renegade, we did not meet until high school. However, Paul was always a strong influence on me. He was fun, a joker, and just an all around good guy. While I knew him in classes and lunch hours, I really got to know him when we were juniors and seniors. He had that special '57 Chevy which greatly added to his popularity (along with his genuine personality). I remember driving around town after play practices. He also provided transportation to and after Prom. When I think of Paul, I smile. I'm sure he did not think of me as a close friend, but I always regarded him as one of mine. I was torn apart when I learned of his illness and want you to know I prayed for him often (even though it was a Lutheran prayer.) I'm sure you will hear this over and over, but the world was blessed because he lived and gave. What a wonderful credit to his name. I am truly sorry for all of you. especially you Betty and the rest of your family. From what I read on Internet, he had a loyal support group who loved and cared for him. Pam's and my sympathies and prayers are truly with you. He was a good husband, a good dad, and a good friend. God's peace to all of you. Dale and Pam Ott
