Obituary of Paul Joseph Menges

Pharmacist, Paul Joseph Menges, Age 79 of Osage Beach passed away peacefully on

Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Eldon Nursing Home after 5 years with Alzheimer's Disease.

He was born November 21, 1938, in Alliance, Ohio. He was the son of Fred and Margaret (Ohligher) Menges.

His family moved to Staunton, Illinois in 1947 where he attended St. Michael's Catholic School and Staunton High School. He graduated from high school in 1957.

Paul attended St. Louis College of Pharmacy and graduated with a degree in Pharmacy in 1963.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Betty (Buechter) Menges. Son, Michael Menges and wife Nancy of Oakfield, Wisconsin. Daughter, Julie Menges Schell and husband John of Osage Beach, Missouri. Son, James Menges and wife Carmen of Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Eight Grandchildren, Kathleen Menges Stonitsch and husband Justin of Fort Myers,

Florida. Bryce Menges and wife Sarah of Fon du Lac, Wisconsin. Ashleigh Paxton and Evan Lewis of Camdenton, Missouri. Jordyn and Jennah Schell of Osage Beach, Missouri. Jacob Burton and Macie Menges of Lee's Summit, Missouri.

One sister Margery Menges Chisholm and husband John of Boston, Massachusetts. Many relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his brothers Fred and Tom Menges and his parents Fred and Margaret Menges.

Paul was a dedicated and hardworking Pharmacist for 40 years. He was employed by

Walgreens and Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri until he moved his family to Lake of The Ozarks in 1978 where he owned and operated Glaize Drug Store in Osage Beach, Missouri until 1999.

Many of his hobbies included boating, water skiing, Ham radio, flying, RVing and playing Blackjack. He earned his private pilot’s license in 1975.

He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed Cub Scouts with his two sons in St. Louis, Missouri. Paul was a life member of Knights of Columbus and a member of the Lion's Club, Elks Lodge #2517 and a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.

Paul was a loyal and loving husband, father, grandfather (Papa Paul), brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend.

Services will be held Friday, June 8, 2018 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Ozark, Missouri. Visitation at 10:00 am and mass at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
