Obituary of Dr. Richard Paul Hill

Dr. Richard Paul Hill, M.D., age 85 of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Arrowhead Senior Living in Osage Beach.

Born December 7, 1933 in St. Paul, Nebraska, he was the son of Paul and Bernice (Walters) Hill.

On June 21, 1977 in Vacaville, California, he was united in marriage to Cassie Wisner.  They shared 42 years together as husband and wife at the time of his death.

Dr. Hill served in the United States Air Force and attained the rank of Colonel before his honorable discharge.   He obtained his medical degree from the University of Nebraska where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society, and practiced for 32 years, in Texas, California and Alsaka, before retiring to Lake of the Ozarks.

He served as past President of the Northern California Radiology Society and was Chairman of Radiology for David Grant Medical Center, the radiology teaching program for the Air Force.  In addition, he was the Founder of ‘mock boards” in Fairfield, California where AF, UC-Davis, and UC-San Francisco residents were in competition. He wrote numerous articles for medical journals. He had been Chief of Staff for numerous hospitals as well.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors golfing and fishing in his later years.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Greg Flaker, Dr. Junaid Siddhiqui, Dr. Stephen Keithahn, Dr. Mark Shen, his caretaker Jocelyn Over, the Arrowhead Senior Living Nursing Staff and the Osage Beach Fire and Paramedic Department for their outstanding care and dedication.

Dr. Hill is survived by his wife, Cassie, of the home; his children from a previous marriage, David Hill, M.D. and wife, Lada, of Westerville, Ohio, Mathew Hill of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, Lisa Hill of Scottsdale, Arizona, Natalie Hill and Sam Chavez of Mesa, Arizona, and Kristen Hill of Phoenix, Arizona; granddaughter Cinnaree Bones with whom he shared a special relationship acting as a father figure.  Other beloved grandchildren are Christine, Bradley, Stacey, Andrew, Cheyenne, Greysen, Evan, Samantha, Shain, Skylar, Sadie; and six great-grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Bernice Hill; his brother, Bill Jay Hill M.D.; and his grandson, Dakota.
