Julie and family, in the last 8-10 years we bought 2 sea rays from Mike, and he sold my brother in laws boat for him. We have been absent from the lake area since 2015. My son Marc went to call Mike today to talk to him about having Mike locate another Sea ray for him. He found Mikes obituary. I am just num and shocked. I felt like I needed to say something, so I decided to leave this note for you and the family. Mike was a hell of a guy. We liked to fight about politics, but i think we were very good friends. There will never be another Mike, nor will they ever make another me. Julie aging is not fair Guys like Mike should of been allowed to live on for as long as they wished. He had a very positive influence on every persons life he had come in contact with. I know, I was one of them, and very few people have been able to do that, but Mike did. They say you will only have met a number of true friends in your life, that you can count on less than one hand......I now only have 4 fingers left on that hand. I dont think Mike will ever be very far away from you all. I know how much he deeply loved you all through our conversations. Julie and Family, I want to share how Mike touched my family. As you know, we moved down to the lake from Chicago about two years ago. Like most, we needed a boat and soon found out that Mike was our guy...and here's why: When we went shopping for a boat, Rick and I also had my 23 year old son Jacob with us. Jake has Asperger's Syndrome (Autistic Spectrum) and I have been very protective of him his entire life. When we went for a "test drive" on the water (at a relatively high speed), I turned to look at who was driving, and was anxiously surprised to see Mike standing with Jacob at the wheel. The expression I saw in Jacobs face was so moving, and was later supported when Jake told me that he never felt so free in his entire life. Mike was able to help Jacob break the limits that bound him by creating a new boldness in taking on challenges. Yes, Michael did touch Jacob in a way that altered his course and I am so grateful for Mike's insight and the compassion he demonstrated for his fellow man.
