I just learned about your families loss this week, as I prepare myself for my own loss in the coming months. You see, my father, Keith Jussel used to work with Ernie back in the late 70's,early 80's at the Laramie River Power Station in Wheatland, Wyoming, and maybe the Rawhide Power Plant in Loveland, Colorado. ( I am not 100 percent sure about this now, as my notes got pretty murky about this time.) Any way, I am trying to get as much work history from Dad as I can, as he is a victim of Mesothelioma, and all information is needed by the legal team handling his case. As he can recall names of co-workers, my daughter and I pull them up on the internet, to see if we can find them. In Ernie's case, we learned that he had recently passed away. I want you to know that my sappy 87 year old Dad immediately teared up, got all raspy voiced, and told us what a great teacher Ernie was. I just wanted you to know that Ernie still is thought very highly of out here in Wyoming.

Thank you for sharing that memory of your dad and my grandpa Ernie. Ernie was all around the best grandpa I could’ve ever asked for.

I wonder if in the hereafter the wearing of white socks with formal wear is allowed. It’s the first thing I thought of after hearing of Butch’s passing. I remember Butch and myself coming downstairs after getting ready for my wedding dressed in white dinner jackets, black trousers and shoes and “WHITE” socks which led to a lecture on dress codes by Aunt Dora and a demand that we immediately go downtown and buy some black socks to replace the white. What did we know, we were of the bopper generation where black shoes and white socks were the the standard and considered cool. We only wanted to add a touch of cool to a wedding. Also remember the many family get togethers in Devils Lake and the times of sneaking out the second story window after dark to carouse the neighborhood and maybe have a few smokes. Fun times. My condolences to Carol and Family. I know Butch will be missed but his persona will live on in our memories. RIP Best Man, RIP. Johnny

From the very first...we enjoyed Ernie's warm heart and welcoming spirit. When Ryan and Kate got engaged we were welcomed at the Lake and enjoyed Ernie's love of fishing and boating. Ernie's generous spirit showed itself in helping his kids, family and neighbors in fixing almost anything. I loved his sense of humor and jokes. And as a grandma...I so treasure how the grandkids loved him. It is an honor to have had Ernie as family, and I will always remember his love and care over Ryan and Kate and kids.

Just two days before my dad passed I was able to tell him he was my hero. And boy was he. He was the best dad a little boy and grown man could ask for. He was so funny, so kind and willing to help anyone. He was a great husband to my mom. He took care of his family and he loved to tease all of our kids in a loving way. He was the best fishing partner in the entire universe. Going fishing with him and his dad were some of the most memorable times in my life. I will miss him every day until my last breath. My dad, my hero. Thank you Lord for such a wonderful dad.

Butch Big brother you were larger than life to me as a child The Yankees and playing 500 we enjoyed with a smile. Wrecking your Ford when I was about seven An attempted escape, a swift kick to my bottom. Playing rummy when you got home after a date. Bold pinochle would later be our card playing fate. Hunting and fishing were an unquenchable thirst. Getting up early to get the best spots first. The harvest was plenty and froze in a ball. At table it nourished and reminded us all. Your bride and your sons were a joyous addition. Fun visits with your family from Kentucky to Michigan. Giving me jobs at power plants with big money. Helped pay for my college, met characters funny. Attending my graduation and wedding you did. Towing my car, building my deck, and Sandy to kid. With Benjamin’s passing you stepped up to the plate. Motor homed us to Durango with support that was great. Family reunions were sparked by your amazing wit. With calls & proud stories of your grandkids you were lit. Your humble heart was so big and so soft. Your goodness surely came from Aloft. You handled your struggle with grit and grace. Hope and determination, the food of your pace. So many good memories for me to enjoy. A better big brother God could not employ. Love, Tim
