I am so, so very sorry that I just heard today, about Chris' passing. Chris will always hold a special place in my heart as the one who had my back and showed me the ropes at work when I moved to the lake. Chris was always kind and helpful, with a tremendous sense of humor and quick wit that was enjoyed by his co-workers and customers alike.
One of my fondest memories is Chris' comic ending to each week, "gonna make like a tree and leave", "make like a hippie and blow this joint", "make like lightning and bolt"! No matter how hard we tried to come up with one that he hadn't heard before, Chris would blurt out the last line before we could finish...literally, beating us to the punch every time!
We also, always looked so forward to the holiday season, when each Monday, Chris would come into the office and entertain us with stories of the wide eyed children who had spotted him at Walmart or Lowe's and knew without a doubt they had seen Santa! (Though he did share that Peg was not as thrilled with her new title as Mrs. Clause!)
Above all else, it was obvious to all, that Chris lived each day for his family. He was quick to share stories of their adventures, their accomplishments and best of all the grandchildren! Chris was a proud papa and grandpa and had the pictures and videos to prove it!
There are people who touch your life and leave you better than they found you - Chris was one of those people to me and I consider myself extremely lucky to have had the honor to call him my friend.
To his lovely wife Peg and the rest of his brood, Donovan and I send our most sincere wishes that you find peace and joy in the beautiful memories of your life with Chris - much love to all of you
