Ron ( Ronnie) was my first real childhood friend after our family moved to 1075 Lindsay La. in Florissant in the Spring of 1962.
He was the loyalist of friends during our years growing up. We played every sport and goofy outdoor childhood activity known, on our Daniels “Park Like” homestead.
We were inseparable for 13 years of our lives until my best friend proudly decided to become a Marine and enlisted in the Military.
Ron was very willing and excited to be a part of my wife Marcia and my Wedding as one of my Groomsmen in June of 1976.
We had our most memorable moments in our teenage years, as we played the sport of Hockey whenever and wherever we could.
When Ron moved to the Lake Ozark area, we did stay in touch and were able to reconnect.
He always talked about how happy he was sharing his life with his new found partner and Love of his life, Jan.
Ron and Jan were able to attend my own Dad’s memorial service back in 2014 and i was able to finally share his joy of Jan when we met for that first time.
I was able to be side by side with Ron in those final days of his own Mother’s life as we both shared in that loss.
Ron was definitely like another Brother to me and we stayed connected as he shared the physical struggles
of his final few years.
Always upbeat and interested in one another’s latest
activities, we enjoyed sharing the stories of our aged
lives as we and our families both grew older.
Very few people are able to stay connected to any one person outside of their family and still know they are your true friend for almost 60 years.
To say i will miss Ron is very understated. He and Jan have held a special place in mine and Marcia’s heart and even though God decided he wanted Ron to be with him, Ron’s spirit will live in my heart until we are able to reunite in the presence of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ.
He was not only my “other brother” here on earth, but
lives as my brother in Christ, whom we both know holds him by his hand now, in the presence of God our Father.
Hallelujah and Amen
