Obituary of Everett Parker

Everett Parker, age 73, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at his home with his loving wife and stepdaughter by his side.

Everett was born September 20, 1949 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  He was the son of Willard and Ellen (Pollard) Parker.

Everett grew up in Minneapolis where he was involved with the Boy Scouts of American, earning Eagle Scout.  He graduated in 1967 from North High School and went on to attend the University of Minnesota earning his Bachelor Degree in general studies. Later, in 1978, between jobs, he entered Bethel Theological Seminary and earned his degree in Biblical Studies in 1988.

Everett served his country valiantly in the Vietnam conflict from 1970-1971 with the US Army, proudly achieving the rank of E5 in 14 months and receiving the Bronze Star.

Everett was called into full time ministry in 1988 and pastored a church in Detroit, Michigan where he worked closely with those suffering from addiction.  He relocated to Lake of the Ozarks where he pastored a church in Iberia, Missouri. After his tenure in ministry, Everett worked in managerial positions for several electrical supply companies including, Westinghouse Electric Supply, Graybar Electric and most recently CED Electrical in Osage Beach, Missouri, retiring in 2018.  He fulfilled one of his greatest passions for music as member of the praise and worship team with Cross Life Evangelical Free Church in Macks Creek, Missouri.  Everett loved music, especially Christian music and Blues.His favorite band of all time was Little Feat.  He also enjoyed fast cars and loved driving his Corvette.  Everett was an avid sports fan, and having been raised in Minnesota, was a huge Minnesota Vikings fan and loved cheering on his Minnesota Wild and Minnesota Golden Gophers teams.

Everett was a proud member of the VFW and American Legion. He often wore his Veteran hat and loved the camaraderie with his fellow “brother” veterans.

Everett married Lucy Camello October 14, 2000 in Lake Ozark, Missouri and they shared 22 years of love and laughter along the way.He loved his step-children and step-grandchildren as though they were his own.Everett and Lucy loved traveling the world to experience other cultures including Hawaii, Greece, Jamaica, Mexico, and recently experienced a river crusie on the Danube.  They would escape the cold months to their Florida home during the winter.

Everett is survived by his loving wife, Lucy, of the home; children, Christopher Desnoyers and wife, Theresa of Verona, New York, Andrew Desnoyers and wife, Megan, of Newburg, New York, Cieramarie Jones of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Andre Jones and partner Savannah, of Springfield, Missouri; grandchildren, Kade, Christopher Jr, Elijah, and Aria; beloved niece Heidi Swedburg and nephew Brian Rainerson; along with several great nieces and nephews; and his close friends, Joe and Jackie Bartholomew, Jerry and Evelyn Kautz, and Jim and Connie Turek, and Kevin Shaa.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Ellen Parker; his sister Gayle Rainerson and brother-in-law, Jim Rainerson.

A private Celebration of Life with full military honors  will be held at the discretion of the family.
